first off, i had a long yet exciting weekend.
on saturday, i went shopping with Fairhaven's youth director Taylor. we spent the afternoon shopping for our upcoming Christmas party. it's a formal winter wonderland theme and i'm so ecstatic to set everything up this weekend. it was a rather fun afternoon getting to know her a little more. it's interesting to see how much you really have in common with someone.
today, sunday happened to be my favorite day this weekend. it was the Christmas service at church this morning. which is one of my favorite services. of course, like every year the service was so moving and inspirational. they manage to make everyone feel so emotional after that hour and fifteen minutes of worship. Fairhaven brought in the homeless Target Dayton choir to sing with Fairhaven's choir today and it is so awesome to see these people not giving up on God because of their troubles and homelessness. the church family also filled over 3,000 bins filled with house hold items to help out a non-profit organization, Homefull. the way this church family helps its community is so beautiful. it's just great to see everyone or at least almost everyone put forth an effort to help the less fortunate.
after church a group of 20 made our way to The Spaghetti Warehouse. delicious, but not my favorite. after a late lunch due to much socializing after church my good friend Taylor, her sister and i made our way to Cincinnati to spend time with her mom and stepdad. it was a forty five minute drive that resulted in Maranda and i passing out while Taylor listened to her underground rap music that kept her awake. after meeting up with her family we decided on dinner, dessert and a movie. we had dinner at Brothers Bar & Grill. it was right off the river in the city. if it wasn't so cold out the Christmas decorations may have been more enjoyable to look at. after dinner we got ice cream, and went to see the movie The Sitters. it's an inappropriate movie and i do not think children under 16 years old should lay eyes on that movie.
in my opinion i would choose not to support movies that are very inappropriate with children acting as the main characters. it's just another reason why children these days are corrupted by the media. but i guess in Hollywood it's not their main concern.
this weekend was so great and i feel as if i'm ending this year very well.
new friendships have form, bad ones are lost, and my future has became a lot clearer.
Dom.
